The final round of the The Canadian Pacific Women's Open is airing today. Nicole Broch Larsen and Mo Martin finished Saturday with 10 under par. Make sure to check your local listing for the time and channel so you can tune in to watch todays round. This is also a great opportunity for your junior golfer to see how the pros play the game.

Good morning all. The Putt Girl summer clinic wrapped up and I am proud to report how well the girls did. Coach and I had a treat time teaching and they had a great time learning. Some of the girls have been with me since the first clinic in 2015 and I had some new participants join this year. Coach and I will have a mini clinic in October if we can secure a location. We will keep you posted.

When I was younger, one of my favorite things to watch on television was the women's professional golf tournaments. Many of you already know, Nancy Lopez was my favorite golfer growing up (still is). Seeing her compete on television and in person, was amazing to watch. To see these very skilled and professionally trained women compete in a sport I was falling in love with more and more each day, was wonderful. Parents, please encourage your children who are learning how to play golf or are showing an interest in the game, to watch professional golf tournaments. Check your local listings for the channel and time. This will give your child an opportunity to see how the pros line up their shots, decide which club to use, how they swing, how they conduct themselves while playing and so much more. Watching a professional tournament will be a great learning experience for them.

August 3 - 6, the Ricoh Women's British Open is taking place in Fife, Scotland. Tune in and watch some great golf!

Happy Wednesday all. We are half way there. I love the weekends during the summer because my golf clinic is in session. The top rule of the Putt Girl Golf Clinic, is to have loads of fun. When your child becomes involved in any sport, it is very important that they are enjoying themselves. If they like the sport they are playing, you will not have to make them practice. They will want to practice because they truly enjoy the sport and want to get better. They will have days where they will need a break from the sport, and that is normal. When they are practicing parents, ask them to teach you what they know. They will absolutely love the fact that they can teach you a thing or two. And who knows, you may decide to start playing the sport as well.

Happy Monday all!! :) Huge congratulations to Mi Hyang Lee, the winner of the Scottish Open. She proved that you should never give up, even when it appears you may not win, always try your best. She came from being nine-strokes behind the leader Cristie Kerr, to win the tournament by posting a round of 68 on Saturday and 66 on Sunday to win by one at six-under par.
